If your blog post's featured images are fairly low resolution, you may want to delete the top image canvas. Your blog will still look gorgeous, but the top banner section looks best when you upload an image that's 2500px on the long side. P & T’s Baker Beach Engagement Photo Session in San Francisco

Getting Started

P and T had never taken professional photos before but they wanted to get beautiful engagement photos of them before their wedding. P had found my photos on Facebook and she loved the following aspects from my prior work:

  • Warm and whimsical vibes
  • The scenery
  • The candid and half-posed
  • Soft warm-ness of the photos
  • Photos don’t look too edited

Through meeting and chatting with P and her fiancé, T, I learned about how it was important to capture the Golden Gate Bridge in the background to capture the significance of the couple meeting in San Francisco and establishing their first home in San Francisco, especially because it was where they met. After providing a few locations such as Crissy Field and Fort Point, we decided on Baker Beach for the setting of our shoot.

During the Session

We started off walking towards the beach and getting acquainted with one another again this time in person. Right off the bat, the couple were lovely and sweet and we set a tone of “let’s-just-have-fun-and-take-some-pictures”. After popping off with some champagne, the couple wrote love letters in the sand, admired the bridge, and took in that moment — the moment before you start the next chapter in your life with your partner — all while the sun started setting from gold to pink to blue. By the end of the session, the sun had faded and the lights on the Golden Gate Bridge came alive and I watched as they enjoyed some soju while sitting and chatting on the beach.

Conclusion

After sending the gallery and seeing how much P and T loved their photos, I took a moment to sit back and reflect on how positive and meaningful this session was to me from start to finish because it was so rewarding to see a couple, in love and about to get married, go from being nervous to get their engagement photos taken to absolutely loving the photos and feeling even more excited about their future. It’s moments like these that make me feel so grateful that, through expressing myself through my art, I’m also serving my clients, and seeing them truly be happy and feel confident from their photos is a huge reason I feel so lucky everyday to be a photographer who is able to capture such special moments in couples’ lives. Please enjoy some additional photos from P & T’s engagement session and cheers to the beautiful couple!
